I have a 6 foot cable from monoprice that I like to use. I noticed something odd... it works fine with fast charging (reports it in the notifications and chargers in an hour or so). However, when I turn off fast charging, it charges extremely slow. It estimates around 6 hours to charge from empty, but only gets to around 70% after 8 hours.
On the other hand, with the stock cable, I think it reported around 4 hours or less to charge (without fast charge), and was at 100% by the time I woke up. I've done this test several times, same room and signal quality, etc. Even switching the cables back and forth show the different estimated charge time.
Why is this? I mean the exact cable can fast charge just fine... and I like to slow charge overnight to avoid battery heat.
I did try shorter 3rd party cables and am having the same effect, which is quite annoying. Again, same charger, fast charge works, slow charge barely works.
