Liquid Damaged HTC One M8 shows solid orange light but no charging / boot up

Hi, I have a HTC One M8 that was in a pool of water for about 15 minutes. I put the device in a zip bag full of white rice (draw out moisture) for 3 days. I've put it on charge and a Solid Amber light now appears for a period of between 30 seconds to 5 mins.

I have tried the following:

• Tried a different charger
• Held down vol up + down buttons +power for 1 to 2 mins [amber light appears Solid on occassions]
• Tried to get into reboot [vol down + power]

Screen does not turn on / no 'charger' screen appears. Before I take it to a service centre, I'd like to know if there any other options available.
