sd card

is there a way to make music player read from sd card ive tried 4/5 players and cant get there,at the moment using ttpod and sd card isnt in the files browser through ttpod look at permisions for ttpod and storage is allowed.plz note not rooted as yet. fire away if you have anything to help...cheers
